Current Openings
Software Engineer
Our business runs on the foundation of a strong technology product. IndiaBookStore is developed using open source frameworks and software like NodeJS, MongoDB, Java, Groovy, Guice, Hibernate, Stripes, MySQL etc. We are looking for an individual who has a good level of comfort across the whole stack. Even if you have not worked with these frameworks or languages before, feel free to apply if you want to challenge yourself to build a performant, robust, fast and accurate search engine and community based features to trigger growth. We are in the early stages and want to go deep into books. Think about recommendations, personalization, crawling and extracting data on terabyte scale and lots more.
Responsibilities
- Developing new features on IndiaBookStore.net
- Working and ideating on solutions to problems related to scale, complexity of data, search, algorithms etc
- Play an active role in product development including planning, leading and conceptualization
- Document progress, schedule projects, and fix bugs
- Performance testing and setting benchmarks
Skills/Qualifications Required
- Bachelor/Master in Computer Science from one of the top tier colleges
- 2-4 years experience in developing on the full stack (front end to backend)
- Knowledge of Java/J2EE and/or NodeJS
- Knowledge of mobile app development (in Android, Windows or iOS) is a plus
- Experience with Web Services (including XML, JSON and REST concepts and frameworks)
- Solid understanding of databases : both relational (MySQL) as well as NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Redis or the likes)
- Comfortable on the Linux command line
- Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
- Must be passionate and self motivated
